The name of this Tyrolean-Bavarian folk dance comes from the loud noise of the slapping of one's hands on the sole
of the shoe and on the thigh (sometimes even somewhere else). The male dancers of the Folk Dance Group
"Uniun Bal Popolar Val Badia" perform this kind of dance during the usual programme but they are also a
group of their own and take part in meetings whenever the opportunity arises, like the European Folkfestival in
Prague in 2008.
